Accent Furniture – Do not Overdo It

The temptation to fill your room from corner to corner with furniture is one that you have to resist. Accent furniture is meant to accent the décor of a room, not overpower it. If you are traveling through your room like a slalom skier, you may have too much furniture. Accent furniture should not be the first thing you notice when you come in to a room, either. There is a focal point to your room and then the other items that accent or enhance that focal point. If you are particularly proud of a great piece of art or a stunning view from the window, do not detract from it by cluttering up the room with too much furniture.
