Floor globes sometimes are lit from within, making them perfect for a child’s room to double as a nightlight. There are other options for floor globes, including those that are meant to project images onto the ceiling, also perfect for a child’s room. If you do choose these, make sure that they are sturdy enough to withstand the abuse of a child or keep them in the family room or den until the child is old enough to really appreciate the gift of having the world right in their own bedroom. For safety, do not put one of these globes in the room of a child who enjoys climbing because the floor stand will not be likely to handle their weight and may collapse.
