What once used to be a wooden or wrought iron rack in a bakery has now moved into the modern kitchen. Although it is no longer used for cooling breads and cakes, it is called the bakers rack. Bakers’ racks are useful pieces of kitchen furniture that are placed along the walls. Their main purpose is storage. Now they may or may not contain drawers or cabinets. They can be made of wrought iron rods or bamboo canes and can be open on all sides. Their beauty is in how the rods are twisted, shaped and formed into grids and hooks to place the items of daily use.
