When shopping for kitchen carts, it is important to make sure that you are choosing models with locking wheels, especially if they are going to be used for the microwave and other small appliances. While it is great that they can be easily moved when it is time to mop the kitchen floor or change furniture around, for daily use, the kitchen cart’s wheels should be locked into place so that the appliance is not inadvertently unplugged during use. Locking the wheels can also discourage younger children from pushing them around the room, potentially damaging the cart or the flooring.
